MEOLO

One of the towns where the historic presence of Venice can be seen most, with many villas built between 1500 and 1750, including Palazzo Cappello, which is now the town hall, Villa Priuli (with its masks), Villa De Marchi, Villa Corner, Villa Folco Drena with its gardens, and Tiepolo’s frescoes in the parish church of S. Giovanni Battista.

You can now walk along stretches of the river and visit Villa Malipiero, with its rural buildings and Ponte Catena, among others. The ‘G. Pavanello’ historical-ethnographic documentation centre studies the area and carries out archaeological excavations to reveal the area’s Roman origins.
