TAGLIAMENTO

A Border River

The Tagliamento originates in the Cadore area; it goes past Carnia and continues into the Friuli plain, representing a natural border between Veneto and Fruili Venezia Giulia. It joins the sea between Bibione and Lignano. It is one of the few rivers in Europe to have preserved an interwoven canal morphology and for this reason and for its original river eco-system, it is also known as the King of the Alpine Rivers. Along its trail, the landscapes are real gems.
