QUARTO D’ALTINO

Part of the Unesco World Heritage site ‘Venice and its Lagoon’ since 1987 and identified as ‘the birthplace of Venice’, the ancient Altinum houses a new National Archaeological Museum with over 40,000 finds and many excavated areas with uniquely beautiful mosaics. Located in the Sile River Regional Park, it is an ideal destination for cycle tourism, at the crossroads of the Annia and Claudia Augusta, two ancient Roman roads.

From Altino and Portegrandi you can visit the lagoon islands on organised trips or on scheduled boat services. From April to September, you can visit the 56-metre-high bell tower to admire the spectacular 360° view.
