CA’ TIEPOLO
The history of this hamlet of Porto Torre is linked to that of the Venetian Republic, which granted these lands to wealthy Venetian families, who reclaimed and cultivated them. The place is also linked to the patriot Angelo Brunetti known as ‘Ciceruacchio’, who fought for the Second Roman Republic. When it fell, he fled with Giuseppe Garibaldi to Venice, but he was arrested here by the Austrians and shot together with his 13-year-old son on 10th August 1849.
