LIO PICCOLO

A small village in the municipality of Cavallino-Treporti surrounded by the Veneto lagoon. . Lio Piccolo is a group of little islands separated by narrow canals. It is surrounded by very scenic roads set in a landscape formed by the lagoon and lots of vegetable gardens, where the well-known ‘castraùre’ (the first sprouts of the violet artichoke) and ‘zizote’ (jujubes) are grown, with a few isolated casoni (fishermen’s homes), interspersed between the canals, salt marshes and fishing valleys.
