MUSILE DI PIAVE

Musile di Piave is one of the points where the boundaries between water and land blend and where Venice’s first water works were carried out. Canals like the Fossetta were dug, and the Piave River was channelled, embanked and then diverted here, while the Sile was made to flow on the bed of the Piave Vecchia.

There are interesting nature trails and you can also visit the educational centre. The characteristic medieval Torre Caligo (a tower built near an ancient monastery) is next to the canal of the same name and was used to observe traffic on the river.
