ANNONE VENETO

One of the main centres of Veneto wine production, between Via Postumia and Via Triestina. Famous for wine since the times of the Venetian Republic, with a succession of vineyards filled with Tocai, Merlot, Cabernet, Malbec, Pinot, Refosco and many other varietals. These wines are celebrated at harvest time and enjoyed with polenta e osei (polenta and roast wild birds). After visiting the wineries and dairies (this is also a Montasio cheese-producing area), visit the old church of San Vitale in town with works from the 16th century. There are also rural homes and large green spaces close by.
