TEGLIO VENETO

Its name recalls the surrounding forests of lime trees that were later cut down to make space for vines and other crops. It was already a parish in the 12th century, under the bishopric of Concordia. As well as its churches with remarkable paintings, there is an oratory dating back to the 13th century, which served as a meeting place for heads of families, with a beautiful Renaissance vestibule.

  • The Church of St. George, inside which is a wooden altar whose altarpiece is the Virgin of the Rosary by Osvaldo Gortanutti (d. 1695) and the 17th century wooden statue group with the Virgin and St John the Baptist at the foot of the Cross

  • The Oratory of Saint Anthony Abbot, dating back to the 13th century and later enlarged with a Renaissance-style vestibule supported by columns.

  • The parish church, with its two 17th-century wooden altars

  • Villa Reis, an enormous 19th-century building.
