LUSIA

Lusia is named after Gens Luxia, the consul who defeated the Cimbri in the Battle of Campi Raudii. The consul’s daughter, Maria Terzia, lived on the family estates in what is now Lusia, territories that were given to veterans and partly occupied by Caio Mario, who created farms here to exploit the fertile region for agriculture.
